There are so many lessons that I have learned from Grandma Bobbie. Here are some of them… It’s easy to have faith when there is nothing to test it. Finally met the doctor today. I prayed and prayed for patience and grace and whatever else was needed to move forward and get Grandma the care that she needs and the cooperation that we need! She told us time and time again that we were taking details out of context. To some extent I agreed. Certain lab values, etc. I also appreciated her points about looking at the whole patient, big picture, etc. I did not however agree that the white blood cell count could 'be from many causes, not just infection'. It's been over a week now, and we still haven't met or talked to the doctors. I got completely fed up yesterday and started making calls. The nice lady who answered the phone at the corporate office felt my pain and put me right through to the Corporate VP of Compliance. He didn't say much, but did say that he or the CEO would call me back, and gave me his cell phone number. I must have stirred something up! All of a sudden they haven't been giving us information, and we haven't gotten to speak to the doctor, ...
